COMBE ST. NICHOLAS ART GROUP

The Combe St. Nicholas Art Group, which started in 2003, meets each Friday morning between 10am and 12 noon in the Parish Hall. Sessions run during the autumn and spring terms from September until April.

The members explore all aspects of drawing and also painting in watercolours under the guidance of their tutor Peter Tucker and each is given the opportunity to develop their own individual style.

The members continue to show their enthusiasm, with some having entered their work in the annual Horticultural Show competition. There is a growing waiting list of people keen to join.

 

LATEST NEWS

The second exhibition, staged by the Art Group, took place on Saturday November 19th 2011, at Combe St Nicholas Village Hall. All the hard work put in by members paid dividends, as those who attended agreed that the total experience was most enjoyable. About 40 pictures were framed and hung as well as a selection in browsers. Various craft stalls, a raffle and refreshments all added to the day.

A percentage was taken on pictures sold and from sales made by stallholders. The refreshments and raffle were well supported, which, after expenses, enabled the Art Group to make donations both in excess of £100.00 each to the Village Hall kitchen fund and to Age UK (Somerset).

We would like to thank the public for supporting our exhibition, and our tutor, Peter Tucker, for sowing the seeds of holding an exhibition a couple of years ago.
