Combe St Nicholas Horticultural Society                         


 

Meetings are held in the Village Hall, usually on the last Friday of every month, at 8.00pm. We enjoy a variety of talks by guest speakers. Activities in the summer include village cream teas and visits to local gardens. Our annual show on the first Saturday in August attracts a large number of entries in 120 different classes. Spring Show 27th April 2012

This is advance notice that we will be holding a Spring Show in Combe Village Hall on Friday 27th April. It will be an informal evening, run on similar lines to the Autumn Show. There will be the following classes:

· Dwarf bulbs – Tulip, Crocus, Iris, Narcissi etc. (up to15cm)

· Alpine in pot (up to 15cm)

· Primula/Primrose (up to 15cm)

· Vase of flowers and foliage from a flowering shrub

· Vase of other cut-flowers from the garden

· Flowering pot plant

· Spring flower arrangement

The evening will include a Supper – bring your own wine and glass. Admission will be £3 for Members & £4 for non-Members. There will be no charge for entering exhibits.

 

 

The 38th annual show was held on 6th August 2011. The show returned to the church again for the second time since 1997. The show attracted 570 entries which was about average. Local Ladies provided teas and refreshments. To see who won the cups click on prizewinners.
