.
 Combe St.
Nicholas Methodist Church was opened in 1891. An news
article, supplied by Stanley Hopkins,
provides an account of the
history of the Church.
An article in
the Bristol Mercury and Daily Post, of Saturday, March
21, 1891 describes the opening and also refers to the adverse
comments from the parish vicar.
A recent
innovation has been the building of a new
toilet for the disabled. The members of the Church would like to thank A. Boyland, who
undertook the work, everyone who supported our Gift Day in July
2005, and all the individuals and local organisations who gave
generously to fund this project. The provision has greatly enhanced our premises and has already received much praise.
Sunday service is at
11.00am. Regular joint
services are held with the Parish Church. Women's Fellowship
meet at 3.00pm on the third Wednesday of each month, and a
coffee morning is held each Thursday from 10.30am to 11.15 am in
the church rooms.
The church hall is also
available to outside users.
The Methodist and
Parish churches have signed a
joint covenant
to work together.
